    Consultant Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Ryan, LLC (Houston, TX) in May 2013.

    Interview

It was a basic interview. My recruiter seemed to like me and gave me multiple chances to be assigned to a team. I interviewed with several managers and there were really no surprised. The managers who are looking for a new member personally interview the applicants. I was able to get the interview after going to my university's career fair. They called me several weeks after.

    Interview

Got a phone call from HR. Basically it was a walk through of your resume. After a few days I was invited to local office where you will be working at. I had three interviews with staff and manager. No technical questions as it was an entry level position. Got offer after 1.5 month as the hiring manager was busy so the decision got delayed.

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at Ryan, LLC (Mississauga, ON (Canada)) in January 2016.

    Interview

Typical situational question based interview (what would you do?) then long vetting process with a tedious amount of forms before getting offer. I was warned about how long the process was early on.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Ryan, LLC (Houston, TX) in July 2014.

    Interview

This was a very easy application/interview process. I applied online; HR got back to me about a month later. We did a phone screen where I was told the job responsibilities and allowed to ask questions. I went into the office where I was interviewed by multiple people (senior consultant, 3 managers, and a principal) in half hour intervals 1:1. The questions were boilerplate walk me through your resume/education. Since, they don't expect you to have sales tax experience from college it's more of a personality and general Microsoft Office skills criteria. I was interviewed by that many managers because there were 3 positions open and I would have been assigned to whichever wanted me on their team based on priority of which requisition was open the longest.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Ryan, LLC (Austin, UT) in February 2016.

    Interview

The process was not bad at all. Interviewed with a manager and a Principal. Typical Questions. Tell me about a mistake and how you learned from it...etc. Make sure to know about the company and their core convictions. They loved hearing about that.

    Interview

Overall very pleasant conversations, general competency based interview questions and on top of that technical questions; they like very entrepreneurial attitude of the candidate; someone who will be able to bring in more clients - or at least that was my impression; you have to be able to indicate the areas of possible opportunities to save company money and acquire new business; the interview process (via phone initially) was very positive - friendly attitude and willing to provide as much information as you ask for

    Interview

This is an update from my last review on 6/13/16, I did receive the job offer, but declined. The recrruiter offered the job, but a slightly lower one. I thought it was interesting that he would slip that in (the change in title) as if I wouldn't notice it. Then they wanted to verify my current pay, references, background, etc. before discussing salary with me...that was odd to me. Nonetheless, I declined and then referred a previous coworker, who went through the same interview process and then declined the offer for personal reasons.

When they called me and told me I got the job, I was even more nervous to start but I said, “Here goes nothing”- and showed up anyway. It had to have been one of the greatest decisions of my life now that I look back at it. The flexibility is awesome and I don’t feel as if I have a “work mom” here that’s standing over me to make sure I am doing everything right. This company is the true definition of a TEAM. Everyone works together for the betterment of the company and you see that in the results. In all my years of working, this is the first company I have ever posted anything for, and I don’t take that lightly. Most jobs you wake up and go to because you need the money; this place I come to because I love what I do. I was pretty bold one day and decided to email Brint Ryan. I didn’t expect anything back, I mean come on. This guy is the CEO of one the largest firms in America, surely he is way too busy to read an email and reply to one of his little employees right? I was completely wrong! I didn’t wait weeks or days for him to get back to me; he replied the next day when he got into the office telling me that he appreciated my email etc & I was extremely stoked. Brint Ryan is a class act, and it has rubbed off on this company. This is truly one of the greatest places to work and I’m so excited to be a part of the team!!!” – Full Review
