    Procurement Specialist Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Ramon, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at SAP (San Ramon, CA) in March 2017.

    Interview

This company recruiting process is very disorganized. A third party is used to assist the recruiters with setting up interviews and the communication between the two is subpar. I was scheduled for an interview. I had 2 different people contact me several times by email and phone after one of their coworkers had already scheduled my interview previously. The level of disorganization caught me off guard and was definitely a red flag.

I was scheduled to meet face to face with the VP of Procurement, who is located out of state. I was instead met by a Procurement Specialist and notified that we would be doing a video conference with the manager due to traveling issues she encountered. A conference room had been reserved. However, upon arrival, it was occupied. We had to wait for employees to vacate, which took aproximately 10 minutes. Once situated in the conference room, technical issues with the laptop were encountered. I had to wait another 10 minutes to begin the interview.

Overall, the interview questions were basic. The energy was off, so I'm not surprised that I wasn't offered the position. Even if it was offered, I'm not so sure I would have accepted. I did not feel comfortable.

    Difficult Interview

    Interview

Multiple phone interviews with current employees in my position, HR and manager. 2 calls with employee (peer), 3 calls with my future manager, 1 call with my managers peer, 1 call with my managers boss and 1 call with HR. Final stage was to go to SF and do a 30 minute demo to a group of 5-10 people (both remote and on site). This was after 3 1-on-1 interviews that lasted for about 30 minutes. Extensive process to say the least.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SAP (Miami, FL) in February 2017.

    Interview

First I did an interview with a recruiter. She checked my skills and salary intentions. After 1or 2 weeks I was invited for other 3 phone interviews, including the hiring manager. They made questions about my backgroung experience, working style, language skills and personal stuffs. Each interviewer had a different approach, but all of them make me feel very comfortable during the process.
After 2 weeks I was asked for an 1:1 interview at SAP office in Miami, with another member of the team. He made questions in three different languages and later he said he was just checking my language skills and personal behavior.
After a long wait (3 weeks) they send me an email asking with I was still available for a final interview with the Global VP of Retention. The interview lasted 30 min and he was very objective during the full time.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at SAP in January 2017.

    Functional Consultant Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Newtown, PA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at SAP (Newtown, PA) in December 2016.

    Interview

I applied online through the SAP website for the Functional Consultant Role. I was contacted by the recruiter 2 days later to set up a call with her. The call was scheduled for a few weeks later (she was traveling). I spoke with her on the phone. She did an initial screening. Asked me about my past experience, why I wanted to work for SAP.

She then scheduled a phone interview with the Director whom I spoke with a week later. The director was very nice and a pleasure to speak with. I spoke with her about my previous work experience, my desire to work for SAP.

I was then invited to the last round of interview in early December. Before the interview I was asked to take a personality test and a math test.

This was the first time i experienced an interview where all candidates were invited on the same day for an interview for the same positions as well as other positions. I had the opportunity to meet my future colleagues as well as the early talent at SAP currently. They also had a demo session where we were able to learn more about the company and what their plans are for the future for SAP.

It was very well structured. I was interviewed by a total of 3 people. The Director who interviewed me over the phone and 2 others. I also had to do a presentation (on topic of my choice or my favorite class during undergrad) I chose a topic I was comfortable with and could relate my previous work experience with.

I heard back about my offer a few days later. No negotiation for this position salary wise.
