Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Save-A-Lot Food Stores (Lexington, NC) in April 2010.

Interview

It was an easy process.I was so excited when I got this job. It is a good place to work if you are going to school. The hours are flexible.

Interview Questions

  • A drug screening was set up for me, but the store manager failed to tell me, so I had to reschedule to drug screening. I almost did not get the job because I missed the appointment. That was not my fault because I was never told when the appointment was.   Answer Question

Negotiation

There was no negotiation.

    Shift Leader Interview

Anonymous Employee in New Orleans, LA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Save-A-Lot Food Stores (New Orleans, LA) in April 2014.

    Interview

This was an internal promotion, so the interview was informal. I interviewed with the District manager. Just an overview of job requirements. I was told that I would perform my normal front-end duties, unless I was the only manger, then I would perform all of the management functions. This was misleading because all of the stores that I have helped out at have the Shift Lead do management functions at all times.

    Interview Questions

    • None- I was asked about my availability, and about a time that I went above and beyond for customer service. I was also asked about how I have helped an unhappy customer.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

None- you get the same pay as you already have, but two more dollars when you are the only manager on duty.
