    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Schlumberger (Cambridge, East of England, England (UK)) in September 2012.

    Interview

I responded to an advert in New Scientist and sent my CV to the HR department. I was invited to interview around 1 month later. The day started with me having to give a ~1hr presentation on a research area (I presented my PhD work). I then had 4x30 minute interviews with scientific advisers and the manager and research director of the department I would be joining.

    Interview Questions

    • Talked about my PhD, why I wanted to join etc. Nothing overly technical about the oil and gas industry as it was assumed I had no real prior knowledge.   Answer Question
