I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Silicon Graphics International (Annapolis Junction, MD) in October 2015.

    Interview

The interview process revealed red flags and that cronyism is alive and well at SGI Federal. Office is very small, and the few that are paid f/t work remote or virtual.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at Silicon Graphics International (Chippewa Falls, WI) in July 2015.

    Interview

There was a call from HR asking if I would consider this position since I applied for linux kernel development originally.
Then the Sr. Engineer Mgr. scheduled a phone interview where I was asked about my education as well as interests or activities that related to the position.
Next the head of the verification department called me and asked some technical questions as well as more questions about course work and such.
Finally an in person interview that went 8:15-3:30 or 4 dont remember which, but basically a while day of me meeting the staff of engineers and most asked what I knew and didn't know and some specific questions, only one went into a fair amount of detail on the questions.

    Data Visualisation Analyst Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Indianapolis, IN
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Silicon Graphics International (Indianapolis, IN) in May 2015.

    Interview

    3 rounds :
1st round : Basic HR phone interview - All regular questions followed by a confirmation for an onsite interview
2nd round : With mid level management and Engineers - Typical HR questions , Panel Interviews , Work and Resume related questions
3rd round : With President and COO - COO focussed more on technology and resume related questions while President focussed on higher level skill related questions and considerations about candidacy

HR communicated very effectively to begin with , but as I progressed along the stages HR interaction became less and less.
As I qualified for the final round I had certain questions for their final decision and considerations in my candidacy , which I never got a reply for . A lot of companies do that , but as I presumed the HR to be really supportive I expected a reply . Little disappointed with that .
