Application

I applied online. The process took 3+ months. I interviewed at SiriusXM (Washington, DC) in April 2011.

Interview

There was a one on one with 3 different managers. Those that you would be peer level with, who you would report to and then the senior manager. All of the questions were similar in nature as far as asking how you would react to specific daily or long term scenarios. They were trying to access your familiarity with formal process and procedures.

Interview Questions

  • How flexible are you with changing focus? Some things that are hot today are not important tomorrow. How do you handle it when the focus is ever changing and everything is important?   Answer Question

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at SiriusXM (New York, NY) in March 2008.

    Interview

The interview process is very long. And you are not kept in the loop of what the next steps are. I was surprised when I received the job.

    Interview Questions

    • There weren't any difficult questions. But there were definitely unfriendly interviewers, which I didn't understand until I was hired. This company is not short of internal rivalries and politics which is reflected in the interview process if you pay attention. If it doesn't feel right, or is awkward, there is a reason.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

The job, atmosphere and compensation that I accepted, is not what I ended up with. One week after I accepted the job, their HR department called to tell me the salary had changed, but swore up and down the changes would not affect the position. Needless to say, it did. Very unprofessional process on various leveles.
