    Accounting Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Seattle, WA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Slalom (Seattle, WA).

    Interview

I was scheduled to meet with 3 people, I was notified the day of that one of them wouldn't be available and was rescheduled. I went to the rescheduled appointment, and only one person was available. After the initial interview I attempted to maintain contact with the Recruiting Rep to schedule the additional interviews or to not move forward. I never heard back. Incredible unprofessional and scattered.

    Business Analyst Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Seattle, WA

    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Slalom (Seattle, WA) in March 2017.

    Interview

The first step was a skype interview which is a general HR screening process, and the NExt step was an over the phone technical screening interview. It was fairly informal, as a way to get to know the candidate, but should be treated as a serious interview

    Consultant Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Minneapolis, MN
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Slalom (Minneapolis, MN) in March 2017.

    Interview

    1. I had an initial phone interview with the recruiter
    2. Then an in-person interview with the recruiter (at a coffee shop, which was convenient since I was working FT on a project).
    3. On site interview Interview with co-worker, manager, and director
    4. Off site interview with LOS manager
    5. Follow-up check-in calls from the recruiter 2x

After communicating with the recruiter for over 2 months, the recruiter kept checking in each week to let me know that they did not get an expected SOW. Two weeks later I was told that the Information Mgmt and Analytics team was on a hiring freeze. They seem like a good company, but not with enough work. I decided to withdraw my application after 2.5 months.

    Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at Slalom (Philadelphia, PA) in March 2017.

    Interview

The initial contact was made through LinkedIn by a corporate recruiter out of HQ. I then met with a local recruiter. As I was interviewing with a new Slalom office, I interviewed a few times over 6 months. All interviews were informal - either met in their office or grabbed coffee - and they more laid back than other consulting firms (Accenture, McKinsey, EY, etc.)

    Interview Questions

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Slalom (Boston, MA) in March 2017.

    Interview

I was introduced to someone on the talent acquisition team through a Slalom employee that I previously worked with. The interview process started with a phone screening and was followed by two in person interviews. The first in person interview was with two consultants and the practice area director. The second in person interview was with the managing director and the general manager. I talked to all of these people one on one. All of the interactions throughout the interview process were conversational with topics ranging from work experience to interests outside of work. Everyone I talked to thoroughly answered all of my questions and provided a clear description of what to expect working at Slalom.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Slalom (Boston, MA) in March 2017.

    Interview

I met Slalom at a meetup they were hosting, great introduction to the company culture and the team itself! The interview process was extremely smooth and very enjoyable, the hiring team made sure the candidate was in the loop at all times with quick responses and constant feedback, a critical pillar of Slalom's core values.

First I had coffee with someone on the hiring team, which helped to ease into the interview process itself. For the first round of interviews, I spent a half day in the office, meeting with four different people of the team, about 45 minutes back to back. This may sound strenuous, but Slalom made the whole process very enjoyable, constantly checked in, and the interviews themselves were difficult, but that's because Slalom really wants to ensure you are a good fit for the company in all aspects. After this round, the hiring team was quick to get back with feedback and schedule the final round, with two leaders of the Slalom office. The entire process took about 3 weeks. They got back within 48 hours of my last interview. While I was interviewing, it was really helpful to get constant constructive feedback from the team, which is representative of my journey at Slalom. Really great organization with awesome and some of the brightest (and coolest) minds you'll work with!
