    Client Service Partner Interview

Anonymous Employee in London, England (UK)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Slalom (London, England (UK)) in March 2017.

    Interview

The hiring process was excellent. It started with an informal chat to assess interest and potential fit. I wasn't actively looking to make a move, and they were very respectful of that. Each chat felt just like that, a chat opportunity for each side to learn more about the other side. They never avoided a question and were transparent throughout, the good and bad were shared.

Office is very different from traditional consulting company and definitely a plus.

    Consultant Interview

Anonymous Employee in London, England (UK)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (London, England (UK)) in November 2017.

    Interview

Very transparent and honest process. In total I had 5 one to one interviews with four different employees and was offered the opportunity to sit down with additional employees for a chat if I wanted additional perspective.

Slalom is completely about cultural fit and this is reflected in their interview process. They were very respectful of time and this is something I really appreciated. 5 interviews may sound onerous but they were free flowing chats as opposed to rigid interviews or assessment centres. Many qualified and experienced people apply for this company so they are less fixated on conventional hypothetical questions and more on your interests and professional ambitions. This approach is refreshing. They respect the fact that your experience probably reflects the fact that you have already nailed the basics and any questions about your professional competency will probably be answered over the course of the interviews as you speak to your experience and interests.

This company and culture will not be for everyone. The interview is very much a two way street.

    Interview Questions

    • What type of work interests you the most?   Answer Question
    • Are you comfortable with ambiguity and how open would you be to working in areas in which you may have less experience?   Answer Question

    Negotiation

I was disappointed with my initial offer and declined. I was very up front about my reasons and what my expectations were. We exchanged our respective positions and ultimately agreed to a figure that we were both comfortable with. I thought it was a very honest and mature process.

    Consultant Interview

Anonymous Employee in London, England (UK)

    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Slalom (London, England (UK)) in November 2017.

    Interview

The interview process is efficient and flexible - there are 3 rounds of interviews with you future team to get to know each other and how well a fit for you Slalom is as well as how well you'd fit Slalom culture. The interviews have the form of an informal conversation and what you get to experience is the friendly and open attitude you'd get if you were a part of the team. The recruiting team is really quick to give you feedback from the interview and they make an effort to constantly keep you informed of where in the process we are, what happens next and when; if there are delays due to unavailability of the interviewer the recruiters will call you back and let you know what's happening and why - that way the whole process is very transparent and inclusive, and you are not left wondering how did it go and when you might hear from your potential employer next.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (London, England (UK)) in September 2017.

    Interview

Slalom was great interview process for me, I was in touch with the recruiter in April when I wasn't actively looking but was left with a solid understanding of Slalom's growth plans and story in our short call and was left feeling excited. I decided to stay at my employer a little longer which the recruiter totally understood and when I was ready to start the search in September I got back in touch and the response back was very quick.

The process lasted around 3 weeks and met with 6 people within the business which was good as it gave me a chance to meet people from consultant level through to the general manager. Everyone was very friendly and I felt very relaxed with every meeting that I had.

    Design Lead Interview

Anonymous Employee in London, England (UK)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (London, England (UK)) in December 2017.

    Interview

A well respected talent manager from a previous company contacted me and that was the beginning of the interview process. In total I met and interviewed 4 times with Slalom and with 7-8 senior leaders, it sounds arduous, but actually one of the most thorough and enjoyable recruitment processes that I've been through.
At no time did I feel they were trying to 'trip me up', but merely they (and subsequently, I) gained the reassurance that I was the best fit for them and they were the best fit for me.
Amongst the 7-8 senior leaders I was able to meet 2-3 of the most senior leaders in the business, my practice lead and at least 1 member of my team.
I'm glad to say that the outcome was good, and my subsequent experience has not let me down!

    Principal Consultant Interview

Anonymous Employee in London, England (UK)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Slalom (London, England (UK)) in December 2017.

    Interview

The interview format seemed pretty standard for the industry. It consisted in 4 interviews. The first one was with an HR manager and was focused on past achievements, skills, company values presentation and culture fit assessment over the phone. Once assessed as a potential good fit (company/market needs + culture), I had 2 back-to-back one-hour interviews with the potential Business Unit managers and senior managers (in person). These interviews were run as free flowing discussions, but were nonetheless focusing on evaluating the candidate suitability for the needed roles/levels, as well as culture fit. The forth interview was conducted by the GM followed by another short HR manager meeting. All in all, it take about a one month for the entire process from the first contact to a offer signed, but it was during the end of year holiday season, so mileage may vary.
