    Interview

I met with HR and then the hiring manager first. came back for the second interview to meet an extended team. seemed a little strange to meet~potential~ coworkers and I wasnt sure if those were interviews or for my benefit. I did enjoy meeting people and it was a good experience. it was the end of their quarter and it seemed very exciting and people were pretty happy and rowdy so the office experience was pretty good and it seems like a cool place

    Interview

The company seemed pretty interesting and the software sounded cool. Received an email pretty quickly after submitting application to set up a phone screen. Interviewer never called during the time we scheduled. I had to email him to get it rescheduled. He missed our second call as well. Have still not heard back and the position is still open so it seems like a disorganized mess over there right now.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SmartBear Software (Boston, MA).

    Interview

I applied and heard back pretty immediately about a phone screen. I was then asked to come in for an in person interview but someone else from HR contacted me to set this up instead of the person I interviewed with. When I arrived the pro gal HR person wasn't there so I met with a 3rd individual. I interviewed with about 4 people and got positive feedback throughout the process. I was told I would hear back on Friday (my interview was Monday). I hadn't heard back by the Monday after was supposed to hear back so I sent an email to one of the three HR employees for an update. I've sent 3 emails and had no response and it's been over 2 weeks since I was supposed to hear back.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SmartBear Software (Somerville, MA).

    Interview

I applied online, had a phone screen with the hiring manager, and was invited into the office to interview. The manager was incredibly down to earth, approachable, and nice. I had previously informed them of my salary expectations and thought that was no issue. After a 15 minute critical thinking test and 3 hour interview with the team, I thought everything was great. When they made me an offer it was significantly less than I had previously mentioned, which they knew going into my interview. They didn't budge on negotiations. A huge waste of my time.

    Anonymous Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SmartBear Software (Somerville, MA) in September 2016.

    Interview

I came in for an interview a few months ago. I was contacted originally by phone, and the initial conversation was great. An interview was set up for the following week. I was really looking forward to this interview, but when I set foot in the office everything changed. People looked miserable. I've seen some bad company cultures, but this was the least-lively office I've ever been in.

The first manager that interviewed me was nice and professional. The questions he asked me didn't really seem relevant to the job, but I went along with it and felt that it went well. A second manager came in to interview me right after, and he asked me the EXACT same set of questions as the previous manager. I don't know what the reason for this was. Seems like lack of communication on their end. During the end of the interview, I asked about the company culture and why people love their jobs here. All the managers could really tell me was that the culture is "collaborative" and it is "improving". Hmm... If it's "improving" now, I'd hate to see what it was before. One of the managers gave me a tour at the end of the interview and that's when it hit me. There are hardly any women that work here. I get it- the tech industry is predominately male, but there was a noticeable lack of female presence, especially in management. The interview concluded well after 6:00, but everyone was still at their desks, slaving away, looking miserable.

I went home and read Glassdoor reviews after the interview to confirm my feelings- and I wish I would have done so before making the trip there. It's a huge red flag when HR responds to every negative review with a "defense". Maybe try to not get defensive, gather feedback, and ACTUALLY make changes instead of just saying that you are. I would never work for a company that refuses to admit there is a problem when there clearly is a problem. Other reviewers have also noted the lack of female presence and terrible hours/culture. It's really unfortunately. I'm sure you have a great team of hardworking employees... it's time to treat them as such.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at SmartBear Software (Somerville, MA) in August 2016.

    Interview

Phone interview than face to face! Let me just say I been in tech start up interviews and usually the office is very lively this one was dull. The two men who interviewed me did not seem interested they kept looking at there watches and was late to interview. Needless to say I'm glad they declined me because it seems like the SDR role was filled with mostly males and seems like they would keep it that way. Oh yeah there was an iQ test which to me is pointless an SDR role to me is more about personality and I would want to hire someone who was personable with customers. By reading the reviews people where totally spot on. I see why this company is rated on Glassdoor with a 2.9. If they weren't interested I wish they didn't waste my time to get my hopes up. Note to self be more engaging with people who took there time out of there day to interview with you.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SmartBear Software (Boston, MA) in June 2016.

    Interview

A bit unorganized. First day of interviews had 3 people; the first was subbed in last minute and hadn't read my resume, second was OK, and the third asked me sell to a pen. Called back for second day of interviews; first meeting was repeatedly because another member of the staff had "booked the room". Second interviewer was terse.
