I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SolarCity
Interview
There was a test. But it was mainly to test the candidate's thinking process. Then there was the typical interview question session. It was pretty simple. Just review interview questions and you'll be fine.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SolarCity in Oct 2014
Interview
I first met a recruiter and exchanged information. He was very fast at calling me back, as he called me the very next day. He asked me more detailed questions about my experience and how I would be fit for the job. He had me take an exam online covering engineering and electrical basics, which was sent to the hiring manager. I then received two more phone interviews over a weeks time from two other hiring managers. Both of these interviews consisted of questions about what I know about the company and what I know about the job position. Then, I received an in-person interview from one of the hiring managers I spoke with over the phone. This entire process took about three weeks.

Question 1
During the in-person interview, I was given a scenario of a man lost in the woods. With very little information given, I was supposed to ask continual questions to figure out how the man ended up in his situation. This question was designed to show how the interviewee reacts in a situation with very little information, see if they can find answers quickly and see if they are comfortable asking for help.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SolarCity (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2016
