      Event Coordinator Interview

      Aug 15, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Lincoln, NE
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spreetail (Lincoln, NE) in Nov 2017

      Interview

Spreetail consist of 3 interview process, phone, in person, and work presentation. I received the phone interview and was asked for a in person interview. The in person interview went great. I meet with the lead of the department and a couple other team members. They asked standard question about my past and about the specific role. They answered all of my questions I had and were great people. I was told, if I moved forward I would need to do a "Work Sample" in front of a different group of people. I would find out in the following week. Almost 3 weeks went by and I finally emailed HR to ask about the next stage. I was told I was "very much" still in the interview process and I would be receiving a email in regards to the work sample. 3 days later I received my "work sample" request and arranged a time to present later that week. I was to work on planning the company trip as that was a huge part of this position. I began working on the project and had everything ready to go. 2 days before I was to present, I was called by HR and told I did not need to continue and the position had been filled. I was not even given the opportunity to present my work which was done and ready to go. So in essence the company does not give the same opportunities to all it's applicants that it has previously told is moving on in the interview process. I spent a ton of time on this project to show Spreetail what I was capable of. It really sucked to work so hard on a interview and not even get the chance to present. I would understand if I presented and not gotten the job, that means I got beat out. But, at least i knew i tried and the company reviewed all possible candidates it arrange interviews with. Don not arrange a interview that takes the candidates external time to produce and not follow through, that is just a terrible way to treat a person. Especially when you preach how amazing your culture is. I feel like I might have dodged a bullet, if this is how they treat interview candidates, how do they treat there actual employees? I don't think I want to find out.
