    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at State of Michigan (Traverse City, MI) in December 2008.

    Interview

Application must be submitted through the State of Michigan website(www.michigan.gov).
Personnel in Lansing review all applications submitted. Due to amount of applications received, may not get any notification back concerning position. Lansing will determine best candidates based on education, experience, and criteria requested by local offices. List of candidates are sent to local office supervisor, who reviews list and determines who will be interviewed. Interviews are conducted at local office, usually by three local supervisors. The State of Michigan does provide information on it's website as to the application process and sample questions. When I interviewed, the questions were based on C.A.R (Circumstance, Action, Results). Supervisors score your answer.

    Interview Questions

    • I don't remember any specific questions, but if you look at the website, there are sample questions on it. Make sure you answer all three parts of the question. Many people score low because they fail to indicate the result of the the actions.   Answer Question
