    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at T. Marzetti (Columbus, OH) in February 2019.

    Interview

I was contacted via email about 3 weeks after applying. I set up a phone interview with an employee with HR. I was asked many questions about my academic capstone project. I was told the interview process had multiple steps including phone screening, face-to-face online, and then in-person interview. However, I did not make it past the phone interview, so I can't say for sure.

    Information Security Manager Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at T. Marzetti (Westerville, OH) in October 2018.

    Interview

A third party recruiter reached out to me to begin the process. There were multiple lengthy delays during the process. When they finally elected to bring me onsite for an interview, they attempted to schedule a half day interview on very short notice.

They were accommodating to changing the date so we got synced up. The people I interviewed with (Director, CIO, InfoSec Officer, HR) were a pleasure to speak with.

No curveball questions, they mostly wanted to seek answers for specific security concerns.

After the interview, was told to expect a decision within 2-3 business days. After 5 business days, I called the recruiter for updates and feedback and got no response. After another couple days, I sent an email to the recruiter, also with no response. I called again for the last time a week and a half after the interview.

I learned the job was filled via a LinkedIn post almost two weeks later, still no notification from the company or the recruiter.

I found their behavior to be fairly unprofessional and disrespectful, in addition. To abandon your candidates is a minor league move. To note you are still making a decision or I wasn’t the right fit would have been a fine answer.

    Interview

Dress professional and be prepared to discuss team dynamics and system lifecycle. Employers are more interested in core understanding, drive, and willingness to learn new or unfamiliar technologies. Interview process can last most of the day and you may be required to come back two or three times, but if you are asked to come back the first time, the interest is there.

    Interview

Met with QA Manager and Lab Supervisor in the training room for a 30 minute interview and discussion on relevant topics. As we talked about the work required I asked pertinent questions and provided what I know. Joking and comparisons were a way to lighten and show my attitude and personality.

Very laid back. Technical questions were asked, but very easy going hiring managers. Not too intimidating. The people there are very smart, so know about the company and technical skills. You cannot fake your way into the company.

    Interview

It was intimidating due to the fact that both first and second shift managers were present along with the overall QA manager. Be prepared to take a tour of the plant, so don't wear heels and minimize jewelry since you'll have to take it off ladies!
