Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at T. Rowe Price (Owings Mills, MD) in November 2016.

Interview

Initial interview with HR manager, then Technical Phone Interview, then onsite interview. Onsite Interview lasted 1 full day. They were 30 minute interviews from 9:00 AM all the way to 2:30 with a 1 hour lunch. One of the interviewers stood me up. The overall hiring manager had just gotten back from Nevada and was exhausted and could not really interview.

Interview Questions

  • Common question was how to handle disagreement, discord, and anger in meetings.   Answer Question
  • Another question was how to handle the "old timers" on staff with me being new to the company.   Answer Question
  • They were also interested in my involvement with professional groups by attending local meetings.   Answer Question

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at T. Rowe Price (Owings Mills, MD) in January 2016.

    Interview

I was happy to take an interview with the Sr. Recruiter over the phone. The call was productive and lasted the full allotted time. I received positive feedback and was instructed to await the next step.
As a next step, I was invited to interview with the hiring VP. The allocated time was 1 hr., but could have gone much longer based on the many discussion points. I received positive feedback on my experiences and knowledge as it translates to the position of interest.
Two business days later I received the proverbial form rejection email. I later received information from an HR representative at T. Rowe Price that an individual had already been selected, but due to corporate policy, the company had to post the position and go thru the motions of interviewing candidates.
Although this is most unfortunate, I don’t believe this is representative of how the whole company functions. My recommendation to T. Rowe Price is to not waste other potential candidate’s time just to be politically correct.

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at T. Rowe Price (Baltimore, MD) in May 2012.

    Interview

Process was a very well organized, but slow process. The people I interviewed with seemed to be very interested in the interview rather than going through the motions. Not too many difficult questions were asked, a lot of the standard questions. They focused a lot more on the fit of the candidate. Had very good conversations and all of the associates I met were very nice. Positive experience all around.

    Interview Questions

    • There were no unexpected questions, just the run of the mill situational questions.   1 Answer
