      Human Resources Advisor Interview

      Jun 8, 2012
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Calgary, AB
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TC Energy (Calgary, AB) in May 2012

      Interview

I received a call back 2 weeks after submitting my application. I had a short telephone interview with the hiring manager, consisting of basic questions: Why I was looking for a new position, what were my career aspirations, what was my desired salary range, why I was interested in working for TCPL, etc. Immediately after answering his questions, he invited me to come in for an in-person interview in 3 days. I showed up to the interview and the hiring manager interviewed me one on one. It lasted about 45 minutes. I thought it went really well. He really took the time to explain all the business units and inner workings of TCPL. He was forthright and honest about the challenges of working there and some of the issues the HR department was trying to overcome. His questions were standard BDI with a mix of practical - tell me about a time when..... How would you handle yourself in this type of situation.... give me a specific example of when you had to..... etc. He called me back a week later to tell me that they had selected another candidate. I was disappointed as I had a really positive experience and it looked like a great company to work for.
