    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Talkdesk (San Francisco, CA) in March 2017.

    Interview

I had an easy phone interview first with a recruiter and then with the manager of SDRs.. Told me to always follow up with next steps since this is a sales position. The last interview was in person where you meet with 5 people. First is the recruiter you had the first phone screening with, then the VP of Marketing, then the SDR manager, and a SDR and finally a Sales Manager.

    Sales Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Francisco, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Talkdesk (San Francisco, CA) in July 2016.

    Interview

I was contacted by a recruiter and we scheduled a phone call. During the call, the recruiter told me part of their process screening sales is to ask lots "tactical questions", any of my questions will be answered at the end. This was NOT an interview- it was just rapid-fire questions back to back about my quotas, sale cycle length, deal sizes, etc. There was no conversation- she just asked direct questions and wanted fast answers. Because all of this information can be obtained in a better fashion to assess a candidate.

    Interview Questions

    • What are your deals size? How long was your sales cycle? What was your quota?   Answer Question

    Inbound Sales Representative Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Francisco, CA
    No Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Talkdesk (San Francisco, CA) in April 2017.

    Interview

It started out with me reaching out to a friend who worked at Talkdesk. I was interested in the company and wanted to learn more. He referred me and then a recruiter directly contacted me. There was a phone screening that was 30 minutes which was informative and asked about my background. Second round of interviews was talking to the Sales Development manager about the role I would play then my last was the onsite interview where I met with a recruiter, the SD manager, a current Inbound Sales rep, and then SD Director.

The SD Manager and Director were extremely transparent and seemed like very motivated and influential individuals. Even though I didn't get the job, the experience at Talkdesk has helped me improve my interview skills for future ones.

    Customer Success Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Talkdesk.

    Interview

The recruiter contacted me and gave me some information - except the name of the interviewer and address (had to follow-up for this information). Met with the hiring manager who was pleasant and only asked about my day-to-day activities at my last job. They do seem to lack good communication there as there was inconsistencies on what the recruiter told me and what the recruiter told me: they need to improve this. Also, the hiring managers should be trained on how to interview candidates.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Talkdesk (Salt Lake City, UT) in August 2018.

    Interview

They had advertised a compensation that was not realistic to what there reps were being paid. The interviewer realized this and was straight forward with me. Once we both realized it wasn't a fit, the interview was cut short.

    Technical Support Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Seattle, WA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Talkdesk (Seattle, WA).

    Interview

I applied for the Tech Support VOIP position at TalkDesk online.

There is a Tech Challenge You need to submit before you get a call. You need to write a letter to a client telling them you don't provide russian numbers. There's also a Troubleshooting Thought process Question. They call you if they liked it.
Definitely the worst interview of my life. It was an HR round. Although the process was quick and I got the rejection email within the next two days, I wouldn't apply again.

The interviewer was rude. Firstly the person was in a very noisy environment and I could barely hear anything. Secondly they did not seem interested in what I was saying and simply came to conclusions before I could finish.

I understand TalkDesk has busy days but if you promise a candidate half hour and squeeze all questions in flat 10 mins and get done with it, it really doesn't play well.

    Technical Support Representative Interview

    Anonymous Interview Candidate
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Talkdesk in October 2015.

    Interview

Phone interview with their Director of Customer Support was a fifteen minute process, and the call was on time and didn't go over the scheduled time. The interviewer didn't seem overly friendly, nor was he unfriendly. He seemed like he was just going through the motions of an average interview.

    Interview Questions

    • Typical questions (e.g. explain your current role, why TalkDesk, why do you want to leave current company, etc); nothing out of the ordinary, and pretty bland, actually. I had better questions to ask interviewer   1 Answer
