I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Young Foundation in Jun 2021
Interview
Two rounds of interviews. The researchers and research director were really nice. I rate this experience as negative because of the company's HR who didn't come back with an answer on the day of the interview (as they promised) and ghosted me after a follow-up email.
So after 2 rounds of interviews, a task and a follow-up email I got nothing: no answer, no feedback, no simple 'sorry, we thought you are not a good fit for this position'. They did ask candidates to do a task and to send them presentation materials (powerpoint or excel) for feedback. Why bother if you ghost candidates anyway?
Really sad to see how a non-profit company that prides itself on hiring diverse staff couldn't even be bothered to respect their candidates and not ghost them. Wouldn't recommend applying there.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at The Young Foundation (London, England) in May 2023
Interview
4x competency based questions (between 300-500 words each) followed by a follow-up interview of 6-8 other questions about my experience as a researcher. I should preface this was an interview at the ICS (part of the Young Foundation). They sent the interview questions over less than 24 hours before the interview, despite me asking at the time they sent the calendar invite if they would like me to prepare anything, they said no. They were 4 weeks late in the entire process due to being “busy”. The interview consisted of two people. One was a senior researcher who seemed hungover/disinterested and clearly reading a script with limited enthusiasm. One was some sort of director. The questions asked weren’t all relevant to the job specification. The job advert said they would give feedback to all candidates who made it to interview. No feedback was ever given.
