The most difficult question asked for the ways I would

  resolve various negotiation scenarios stretching from instances that would result in either monetary loss to the company or even worse, loss of a customer.

The adage, "the customer is right" is prevalently the angle one should take on this one. Specifically avoiding the loss of a customer is always better than losing some money...for obvious reaons...you can always make up the losses.
