Quantitative Analyst/Software Developer Intern Interview New York, NY

The most unexpected questions was how would you color a

  3-colorable graph. I was initially thinking that you had to do something efficient, which isn't possible, but he just wanted some way of doing it.

Try colors and recurse, if it fails backtrack.

Yeah recursion probably best with a bit of randomization to make it hard to come up with a worst case. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graph_coloring#Computational_complexity
