Interviews for Top Jobs at Town of Oyster Bay

Anonymous Employee
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Town of Oyster Bay
You had to go to Parks Human Resources at Town Hall South and bring your Nassau County Lifeguarding Certification, American Red Cross Certification, ID and your NYS Worker's Permit (if you're sixteen or seventeen). After that, you had to fill out a packet with civil service documents and tax forms and then return it to HR. After you filled out the paperwork, you get a call back saying that you have the job and what location you'll be working at.
- Do you have your Nassau County Lifeguarding Certification?

I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Town of Oyster Bay (Long Beach, NY) in Feb 2010
Initially, I was referred by a friend who works there. After submitting a resume, I was given a test (this was not a civil service position, per se). Afterwards I had two interviews, one the the Human Resources Dept. and one with the person who would be my supervisor. i would advise interviewees to be well presented and able to answer questions quickly without unnecesary elaboration.,
- How would you resovlve a conflict of interest between a member of your staff and a vendor.
