Two buckets, 50 white balls 50 black balls. How do I

  arrange the balls so that, if I pick a ball from a bucket a random, I maximise my chance of choosing a white ball? What is the probability?

put the white ones on top

put one white ball in one bucket and all remaining black and white balls in the other bucket. probability of selecting white is 1/2 x 1 + 1/2 x 49/99 = 74/99
