    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at UNDP (New York, NY).

    Interview

Like any consultancy at UNDP, this position was listed online through their jobs listing website. The application process was quite straightforward (no cover letter but 1000 character motivation statement).

I was contacted roughly 2 weeks after the closing date and tasked with a writing assignment. This was done over a weekend and was not difficult for any native or fluent English speaker.

The phone interview was conducted with 5 people on the line, each posing a different standard question. As this was the UN, I was asked to ask a question in French as I put down a proficiency level on my application. Word to the wise: Don't lie about your language skills.

Ok, not relevant questions. But was OK. Written questions were more difficult. Process was very bureaucratic. Knowledge of UNDP's processes is essential to interview success, but when you arrive at the job, many successful candidates are bizarre people
