Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at US Department of Veterans Affairs (Salt Lake City, UT) in February 2015.

Interview

Lengthy and drawn out. typical to take 1 to two months. you apply online and then wait forever to hear back, no news is bad news after a month and a half or two. You have to have someone on the inside pulling for you or else your chances of getting in are slim (unless you are a clinical provider, this is all for the admin and clerical perspectives)

Negotiation

there was no negotiation. they tell you what you get. you are working for the government, prepare to 'embrace the suck' as the military term goes.
