Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at US Marine Corps in December 2008.

Interview

1:1 interview to touch upon interests and expectations, preliminary physical fitness test. The Marine conducting the interviews are always highly experienced and have seen much through the Marine Corps. Their job is to recruit, however. Thus, they will tell you only what you need to know while earning necessary points for your enlistment. It behooves an enlistee to do his/her OWN homework and find out what contracts are available in addition to those mentioned by the recruiter.

Interview Questions

  • What can you bring to the Marine Corps and what would you want to gain from it?   Answer Question
  • What kind of job are you interested in?   Answer Question

Negotiation

I asked for a 4/4 contract. They forced a 6/2 contract on me but a very considerate SNCO later allowed me to correct my contract.
