Basic steps involved, interview is a mock lesson with an adult who will give you feedback. You'll either move onto the next step, or have to redo the lesson. They give a handful of chances.
- Why do you want to teach with VIPKid?

Good, friendly, and welcoming company. Interview was not hard, and there was an overall positive environment. I recommend interviewing if you are interested. The process is not too lengthy and interviewing is great experience to have.

The interview process for VIPkid was very straightforward and relatively simple. I had a short formal interview followed by demo lesson. After that, I was given feedback and an offer.
- Tell me about your experience teaching ESL.

interview was weird. no actual trained interviewers just people who think can magically read people and tell if they are a good fit with a 30 seconds interview. they don't listen to questions it seems it more you get like a decision made before and the interview is just to be politically correct
- they asked about my experience

I had to apply online with my credentials. After applying, I had to complete a mock trial class in front of a veteran teacher. This was very straight forward if you have experience teaching.
- Tell me your experience teaching english as a second language.

I applied online. I interviewed at VIPKid
Easy interview process, I was offered the job a few days later. The job was okay but I do not recommend, not stable at all. Your salary relies on your bookings.
- Have you worked with kids before?

Great process. There is a brief getting to know you portion and then the remaining part consists of a demo. They tell you ahead of time about the interview process and what you will need to do. They have a fast track if it's available in your city. The teachers are quite helpful throughout the process.
- You learn the techniques through video or in class instruction and your interview is a class demo.

The interviewer was very polite and knowledgeable but it was difficult to see them as your student. They are very specific in the type of lessons and engagement materials used during lessons.
- How enthusiastic can you be to keep the children’s attention for the entire lesson especially being an online class with young learners.

Pretty thorough process especially now that they are hiring so many people. I would watch guides on YouTube to help prepare for the questions and mock classes that you will have to teach.
- Questions about experience and how to handle unruly kids.

The interview process went very smoothly. I first interviewed with someone from the company and then had a mock trial interview. Overall the experience was very positive. The mock trial was fun and it also gave me experience as far as what a class would look like. Everyone was very nice and though I was nervous I felt that it went well.
- They asked me about my teaching experience and also the hours that I could work.
