    Interview

First it has a online coding accessment from Codility. The problem is not very hard but the time for finishing it is short. Then there are two phone screen interviews and an on site back to back interview.

    Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Virtu Financial (New York, NY) in December 2017.

    Interview

Met them at university career fair -- was surprised to see an HFT firm at my small school! I had competing offers with upcoming deadlines when they first got back to me. They agreed to move quickly and sent me a programming test which seemed to test attention to detail and ability to operate under time pressure (probably more important in trading than a pile of "have you seen the n log n solution before" algorithm questions). Next I chatted with a recruiter to get a sense of what we were both looking for. Decided to interview for a NYC trading role and had a technical call with a trader later that day. He asked me a nifty math question and then answered some of my questions. They invited me to an onsite that Friday with all the arrangements handled. The day started with some snacks and an IQ test. Next I spoke 1-1 with several traders, their manager, and a senior quant type. All interviews were very informal and actually enjoyable. Hard questions but no BS ( i.e. no existential questions, good cop-bad cop, bet on your answer, etc). Due to my deadlines I didn't get a chance to meet with the CEO but they extended an offer the next day.

Overall, an efficient and enjoyable process. I would enjoy working with everyone who interviewed me and that's why I took the job. The people seem humble but very capable.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Virtu Financial (Dublin, Co. Dublin (Ireland)).

    Interview

Recruiter arranged. First round, IQ test 60 questions 25 minutes, relatively straight forward, make sure to budget time. Second round, abstract reasoning questions. They are quite informal, generally interested in people with computional experience. Their interview style while friendly seemed disorganised.

    Application

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Virtu Financial (London, England (UK)) in February 2012.

    Interview

Was given an IQ style test with 60 questions. Pass mark was 53/60.

After this I had a 1:1 interview with a senior trader, who asked some background information, asked about the cv, and then asked 3 quantitative questions

After answering the questions, the interviewer was occupied in trading, and could not give feedback immediately, so the interview was postponed. I was later given feedback that although my problem solving skills were impressive, I was apparently nervous and had showed too much interest in software development to be considered for what was a purely trading oriented position.

    Interview

Fit questions and brain teasers. First phone interview by two hiring managers, one asking about the resume, and the other asking brain teasers. Second phone interview by a trader, asking two brain teasers and then some personality questions. The technical hiring manager kept silent when I was lost in a question and refused to give hints, but the trader was more friendly.
