Interview

First call with HR-> Then with the Director -> Hiring Manager-> Hacker rank->Onsite (6-7 rounds) Director round is for about 45 mins very difficult, Haker rank is worst as its'a QA role onsite is 50:50 they ask as per what come's to their mind not as per job requirement.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Foster City, CA) in March 2017.

    Interview

Interview process is 3 steps. Online phone screen, hackerrank and onsite. Hackerrank is badly designed. Very random. Onsite interview was long. Team taking interview was average and I could tell they don't have much experience taking interview. Example on guy came in and asked how to calculate data center load using jmeter. Directors were obnoxious. They have been in the company for more than 10 years and expects candidate to have same domain knowledge as they have. Overall glassdoor reviews about Visa are accurate. it's a government company where people are hanging on to their positions. My feel from onsite interview was not a good company to work for. Recruiter was not professional as well. He said team liked you but we need to review other candidates before we take a decision. So what you expect from me? Wait? I moved on and took another offer :)

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Foster City, CA) in July 2015.

    Interview

I had 30 minute phone interview, Interviewer called 10 minutes late. All went really well, he asked general quality question, one program, complexity and data structures. He said he would like to call for onsite interview and said Talk to you soon at the end, Only concerned he showed about salary range I was asking for. On the same day I got automated email for rejection and I emailed back to HR for feedback and said that I can go lower if I am getting good opportunity. She has no idea about reason for rejection and told me that we provide this much of salary to people who has 5 years of experience and all. I simply asked for feedback because I know after rejection they will not accept my candidacy, but this type of behavior is not acceptable. After 1 day she replied that actual reason was my communication & technical skills. Are you kidding?

    Negative Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Bengaluru (India)) in September 2016.

    Interview

I was contacted directly by the HR of the company
and in the beginning all rounds were arranged properly.

    Totally 6 rounds:
1st round : Online Assessment focuses on Automation , WebServices and java Programming
2nd round :F2F interview basic to advance java
3rd round: f2f interview your analytical and problem solving on the java programs.
4th Round: Other technologies like Web services and performance testing and problem solving
5th Round : Again same as the previous rounds

finally the day comes for the HR interview cleared that as well .
But before relieving the offer HR contacted and said the position interviewed for is closed
Overall interview process and back to back rounds almost took 20 days with which I have to manage my current office commitments as well as the Interview process

And after all that one fine day HR suddenly get realized that they out of budget and are planning to close the position!! Seriously ...

One of the worst ever experience I have ever experienced from such a Tier 1 company.

My advise during the first communication itself make it a clear point with the company and the HR in contact about your expectation and their expectation as they have pathetic habit of realizing things in the last moment.
