Customer Service Manager Interview

Average Interview

Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart in August 2012.

Interview

If selected, you will receive a phone call from the Personnel manager to come in for an interview. When interviewing, you sit with two hourly associates that ask a series of questions having to do with the retail work environment. If you get passed through that interview, you follow up with an interview with the salaried manager who asks very similar questions to the preliminary ones. If selected through that interview, you get sent for a drug test either that day or following days and a background check.

Interview Questions

when i interview a person for an interview i look for confidence within and how well they know this position they applied for. Because in order to apply for a position you have to do your home work and research on it so if i do throw any curve balls during the interview you will be intelectualy prepared.

    Customer Service Manager Interview

    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Auburn, NY) in September 2011.

    Interview

The hiring process is very straight forward. You get called in to do an interview (scripted) with an hourly supervisor. If they think you're cut out for the job you'll receive a second interview (also scripted) from a member of management the same day. The company has written scripts for all questions, however, they are long and confusing. They're generally simple questions that have been drawn out; such as: give a time when you were assigned a difficult task, give a time when you went above and beyond your job duties, give a time when you effectively communicated important information. You'll be given a job offer on the spot if they think you're suited for the job.

    Interview Questions

    • The interviewer may deviate from the script even though it is highly discouraged. When I did interviews I got to know the person I was interviewing a little better than the script, to get a feel for their work ethic and goals. Not everyone is an orator so I tried to keep it informal.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There is no negotiation with Walmart.

    Interview

Hiring off course is a process, as should be any place of business. There is a background check and Drug Screen process. I started out in Sporting Goods...so I had to undergo a second background process ( a more in-depth process) because of the sale of firearms and privacy info that goes along with that position.

I was a in store hire so they gave me a easier interview but they ask a lot of similar questions as they do when they first hire you in the first place. You just need to be confident and answer the questions in the most confident way as possible. You will get interviewed by an assistant and a hourly supervisor.
