Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Weather Channel
Started off well and the people were seemingly enthusiastic about the organization, which led me to my becoming very interested in the opportunity. Rather disappointed with the highly discourteous manner in how the process tailed off. No excuse for being rude to candidates by not following up regarding what's next, whether it's moving ahead or the interview process ending. As a hiring manager I have always treated candidates with respect regardless of where things go...very surprised that this is how they chose to behave.
- How do you approach working with a team that includes product and tech-focused colleagues

pretty easy to apply; process can be slow though. they might string you along. it's not overly difficult though but be patient. applied online. lots of applicants for certain positions
- ask about experience and discuss what you bring to the company

Takes about a month. Smooth and easy going process just be honest and accurate and to be honest I’m writing to unlock the rest of the cite. But I can’t until 30 words here
- What are your greatest accomplishments?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Weather Channel in Jan 2019
They had me in for four interviews and then completely vaporized without any feedback. Expected better from a company of its caliber, just unbelievable how rude and unprofessional. Remember guys, people showing interest in interviewing with you is a privilege, not a right.
- The same inane standard stuff. Not getting the job is fine, being treated like crap isn't. All starts at the top

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Weather Channel (Atlanta, GA) in Jul 2018
I was referred by an a well known staffing angecy that wc uses to hire on employees. I made it through all the rounds and was invited to a final interview. I got to the interview sold my self on a solid interview answered questions about Google stack an axedus/Ad Wich is active directory. Come to find out they decided to pass on me and not hire anyone then I politely asked for feedback it's was explained by the interviewer to my angacy that I fulffed up my resume. At that point I was super offended that some company such as there statures could say such a thing. If I got through college with a BA in cyber security engineering and served in the United States navy I have no reason to fluff my resume. Of course the interviewer felt like he must discuss the battle between WC and there new buyer IBM. My Recurter was so upset about how everything went he flew from his location to speak with the interviewer personally. Come to find out they had 30 other perfect fits for that position and they did not hire them either. My Recurter wanted to ask them to reconsider I advised my Recurter not to even bother, because if they are this horrible in an interview I wonder how bad it would be becoming an employee. Regardless of it all I already had an offer with a fantastic company that heard about the WC and they increased my pay just to have me come aboard there team. The interview was exactly the same as WC questions and all. I gladly accepted there offer and I start Tuesday. I will not blame all of the WC but I will blame there rude interviewer. That department is just so toxic and I'm glad I got a taste or got passed over I avoided a train reck. Also they lied about the questions I was asked in the interview saying I was making up answers WOW JUST WOW! The questions that where asked of me where completely different then what they told the recurter and that was confirmed what a corporate joke. I guess bigger is never better.
- what do you know about Google slack

Interviewed about a year ago. Phone interview first then had face to face intetview. Pretty straightforward interview process. Would be a great company to work for. Lots of growth potential. Also has good technology.
- How long at last position?

Anonymous Employee in Atlanta, GA
I applied online. I interviewed at Weather Channel (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2017
Four round 1 hour interview with four different teams. A lot of question from both programming and weather related application. Not so many follow-up questions but have to meet from SVP to scientists. Heavy pressure becasue need to explain so many topics not about programming
- C++ smart pointer. Class. Concurrent programming concept like false sharing, vectorization

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Atlanta, GA
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Weather Channel (Atlanta, GA) in Dec 2016
I had a phone screening that covered basic concepts, then I was given a coding challenge that incorporated some new technologies, and then I was brought in for an in-person interview with the teams that I would be working with. I wasn't quite qualified for the position...We were both kind of stretching. They found a guy who knew their stack well and I didn't get an offer.
- What is bubbling? How would I create a function that would accept an event triggered by an element's children. What is recursion? How would I solved a problem with recursion.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in New York, NY
I applied online. I interviewed at Weather Channel (New York, NY) in Nov 2016
I applied online (IBM website) and immediately got an email from a contract recruiter. There were several questions about my background and skills. I returned it quickly and she called and told me she would pass it to the hiring manager and "with your skills there should be no problem getting an interview" and she expected to hear back within 24-48 hours. After a week I emailed to check, but no answer. Which is pretty common, based on the feedback here. I'm glad I didn't put any more time into preparing for an interview.
- All were very basic since this was a screening email.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Weather Channel (New York, NY)
Very disappointed in the unprofessional and deceptive ending to the interview process. I am currently working full-time and Weather Channel reached out to me (via recruiter) to poach me from my current job. I took time out from my workday for multiple phone interviews and an in-person interview. I was given high praise during all steps in the process, especially the in-person interview. I was even told, point-blank and totally unprompted, that I would absolutely be hearing back from them *very* soon. As any interviewee knows, this is just about the most positive thing that a candidate can hear at the end of an in-person meeting, especially unprompted. I sent well-crafted thank-you emails to all involved and eagerly awaiting word. Several weeks went by without a peep. I had to finally assume that, of course, I didn't get the position. I was deeply and needlessly misled and apparently couldn't even be given a courtesy notification that I had been declined. It bears repeating that I was approached by them for this job, but I accommodated their needs and timing every step of the way as if I was unemployed and desperate. I would never want to work for an organization that treats candidates in this way, it shows lack of professionalism and respect at best and lack of moral fiber at worst.
