I applied online. I interviewed at Weill Cornell Medicine
Not going to lie, it was pretty typical. I did a lot of talking, which I don't normally do but I felt very much confident in my answers. I did get in and it was a great experience.
- Tell me about yourself? Why are you interested in WCM?

One weekend, stay at the Bentley hotel, very well planned out and engaging. Graduate students seemed happy and productive in the program, which is always a good sign. The program is very competitive with others in the New York metro area, but student housing options leave a bit to be desired. Students can choose between hundreds of labs at MSK and Cornell, which is a huge bonus. Overall 5/5.
- Many questions from PIs on previous research and future research interests.

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Weill Cornell Medicine (New York, NY) in Jan 2023
Micro aggressive: I was told my thank you notes were not using the correct, formal tone and was reminded multiple times that Cornell holds Ivy League status. Unprofessional: During my interview with the hiring manager’s boss, she answered a text/email while I was in the middle of speaking. Writing Sample: submitted and never received feedback yet received feedback on thank notes Unnecessarily Long Process: I had a screening with HR, 1 on 1 with hiring manager, 1 on 1 with hiring manager’s boss and panel interview with lateral team members.
- Tell me about a time you built a relationship with a donor that lead to a positive outcome.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Weill Cornell Medicine in Jan 2023
I contacted the PI directly and went in person to chat with them and numerous people in the lab. After all the one-on-ones (lasted about 5 hours total) they talked to my references and I received an offer through HR. They asked me about my background, future goals/interests, and previous projects.
- Do you have any questions about the lab?
