What is KLV.

Interview Answer

1 Answer

KLV or key length value is actually 3 versions : KLV EG0104 where each type of metadata representing types like latitude longitude, etc are represented by a 16 byte key then followed by one byte for the length of the next byte sequesce of data.
TLV has a single 16 byte key stating "here is the metadata" followed by a packet of all the metadata. Types like longitude, latitude, etc are represented, not like the KLV keys but by a simple key table number (integer). TLV has a slow and fast type where the BER or length of the key is either one (fast) or two (slow) bytes to state how long the metadata packet is.
