I followed the lead of the director per our phone interview and began to provide specific challenges their area is or will be facing, and how I was able through this course of action or another to bring efficency and guidance, I found at that momment both of us were not on the same page, since the woman felt that was her job to do, not mine.

This is a classic generic question, and it is a perfect example of when it might by beneficial to ask the interviewer to clarify the question.

You may want to try something like: "I can bring many skills and experience to the company that others do not have. Can you tell me what is the key characteristic of your "perfect" person for this position? ... or that you haven't seen from other candidates?"

Bottom line: You're not likely to stand-out by giving a generic answer to a generic question.
