The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Yelp (Scottsdale, AZ) in May 2010
Interview
Interview was very rushed and unorganized. I felt like they just wanted bodies, and would hire anyone. It initially started with a basic phone interview: touch bases and learn a little about me. I next went in on my own to hand-deliver my resume and ended up talking with one of the hiring managers. The final step was an in-person interview with three different people. One had me try and "hypothetically" sell them a table, the other asked about my past experience, and the final person asked what I like to do for fun.

Question 1
How would you "hypothetically" sell me this table and chairs?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (Austin, TX) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

Question 1
One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
