My business experience in managing customer issues is extensive, my lack of experience in the company's industry means that I must be attentive to co-workers, manager, and most importantly, clients, as to ramp up quickly on the needs and issues of this industry.

I have extensive knowledge of this industry, life science. The manager I had a phone interview with not very impressive. He asked questions that didn't relate to this sales position. He was going thru the motions knowing he may not be around when the Oracle acquistion seals, IMO.

Was told the quota was $25K and the average deal $300K? How can that be? When I asked the manger, how is it possible to sell this many deals in a 12 month time - it breaks down to 84 a year he said " you could look at it this way"? Is there another way to look at it?

He was a complete waste of time.

Because I have the perspective you need from outside your industry.
