    Technical Account Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in San Jose, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Zscaler (San Jose, CA) in March 2017.

    Interview

One of the worst experiences ever. Here it goes:

    - Contacted by the HR and had a generic interview
    - Post this, I was asked for my availability for an interview with one of the directors, and was told I will receive a confirmation about the same
    - I never received a confirmation, nor did I receive any communication from the HR. My emails were not responded for a week.
    - Post this, I was responded to and mentioned that they have had some internal issues with this position, and hence can no longer offer this position to me.

Fast forward 1 month later, I get contacted by the same HR again, and she mentioned that they can move forward with this position for me.
    - I was asked to do a networking test, which I scored 35/40
    - Post this, the HR mentioned to me that she would like to schedule a tech screen for me with a member of the team
    - Again, no confirmation and no response for a 2 weeks.

Ridiculous that the HR does not have basic skills to respond to emails, when it they who had contacted me, and not me. I even did a test and you do not respond after that ? I later dropped the email to the HR that I was no longer interested in interviewing for the company, since I had other better offers, and of course better communication channels with them.

    Interview Questions

    • - Salary expectations and Location preference (We never had a tech screen, all thanks to the HR being non responsive
      - The networks quiz was simple and basic   1 Answer

    Sales Engineer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Boston, MA
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 6+ months. I interviewed at Zscaler (Boston, MA) in February 2019.

    Interview

Zscaler's approach is very organized and meticulous. The internal Corporate Recruiter did a great job of staying in touch and setting expectations for the different phases of the process.
There are a series of sessions with different people in the organization checking for technical knowledge, people skills, experience etc. That was followed by a panel interview in which the candidate needed to present the Zscaler story and value proposition to a panel of current Zscaler employees.

    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Zscaler in December 2017.

    Interview

very structured. Was well thought out, and I knew every step of the process where I was. The process took less than 2 months. Had an SE Panel interview where they give you what you need to shine during the panel. Just got to do your homework... Questions will be all over the place to try to get you to "crack" under pressure, and see what you're made of.
Lots of questions around the sales process as well, even though it's an SE position.
Overall very satisfied with the whole hiring experience. Salary was very competitive.
