It is a search tool for your computer
You can use Spotlight to search for content on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Macbook, iMac, and Mac Pro. Do you know what safe mode is when a computer is starting up?3 Answers
Safe mode is a special way to make the computer start up when it won't start normally. The purpose of safe mode is to be able to fix the problem.
An in-depth answer is that it loads only basic drivers in order for the pc to function. More of a troubleshooting mode
Safe Mode also assists the troubleshooter in determining whether certain applications are incorrectly or maliciously using system resources which would cause crashes or boot errors.

How would you handle an irate customer.2 Answers
Empathize and listen
Ask them, specifically, what you can do for them while clearly stating what your are capable/qualified to do. Sometimes it pays to let them in on your thinking process, so they feel more like a participant than a customer.
How does the runtime program loader work?2 Answers
dunno. Seen it in college, never had to worry about those details.
this depends a lot on the executable file format and what the OS expects an 'executable' to be (a DOS COM file won't work like a Linux ELF or an OSX Mach-O file) however, the loader should be ready to resolve dynamic symbols needed by the file, by loading and mapping libraries into the new process' address space (unless symbols are loaded lazily, such as GetProcAddress() in Win32). once all this is complete, the loader should give control to the start routine of the process, which in most cases is not going to be the user's provided main() but some standard library initializing routine
I a customer's Iphone is having trouble with email (won't receive or send emails) how would you help the customer troubleshoot?3 Answers
Delete old emails, restart the phone, try emailing on another device,
1. I'd start by apologizing for the inconvenience. 2. Empathize with them, let them know how you'd feel if you were having problems with your email. Create the connection. 3. Ask some questions (are they WiFi or 3G/4G) 4. Ask them to restart their phone and check email again 5. If that doesn't solve it, start getting into more tech questions (looking into the email account settings on the phone, who are they using as their email provider)
First, empathize. "I'm sorry to hear you aren't getting any of your e-mails. It's happened to me and it feels as though you have been disconnected from work, friends and family. Let's see figure out together what's wrong." Then move into asking simple questions about connectivity. 1. Ask if they are on WiFi or Cellular data (3G, 4G or LTE) 2. If WiFi what's the signal strength. It looks like a signal strength icon or a fan, it's next to your carrier's name. 3. If cellular data, how many dots are showing. Assuming all of that checks. Ask them to open Safari and attempt to access CNN.com. CNN's web page shows the time and date (in Eastern) from this we can determine if the phone can access the internet. If that works ask them what e-mail client they are using, not everyone uses Apple Mail. also ask them which e-mail service they are using (iCloud, Gmail, work e-mail, etc...). Have them start and restart that specific app. Check their e-mail again, are they getting any. If that doesn't work, have them restart the iPhone. While they are doing that ask if you can send them a test e-mail that way we know if the phone is getting e-mails are not for sure. This will give them something to do while waiting for the iPhone to reboot. From here it gets more technical; but you should have shown you understand not the customer's problem but the at least the basics of solving it.
What is the difference between a hard link and a symbolic link?3 Answers
A Symbolic link is like a pointer to the location of the file. A Hard link is an another name (and directory entry) for the same file - where if the first name for the file is deleted the hard link second name still owns the bits for that file.
A hard link points to actual physical data. If the target is renamed or deleted, the hard link is still valid. A symbolic link points to the target file. So if the target is renamed or deleted, the symbolic link is no longer valid.
You said you did not receive an offer for the internship position. Did Apple contact you and inform you that they went forward with other candidates, or did they just leave you hanging? In other words, did they actually send you a rejection letter or not...
There is no sound coming out of the speakers. How do you troubleshoot the issue.4 Answers
I first answered to eliminate software issue. Then I broke it down from a hardware perspective.
This is more than likely a software issue, specifically a failed sound driver. An obvious sign would be the user noting the sound disappearing suddenly, such as between standby/hibernation states. Restarting the computer provides an opportunity for the OS to retry hooking the driver correctly. There's also the possibility that the sound driver preferences have been adjusted, so it would also serve well to ensure sound output is correctly set to the intended source, built-in audio. If neither option works, I would attempt to rule out speaker damage. Plugging the computer to an outside sound source i.e. an Apple Display and/or headphones, enables me to determine if the Mac is output sound in general. If sound is present, then there appears to be some failure to link the internal speakers to the OS. In this event, a repair should then be scheduled.
Does the device say headphone mode? If so try to use a Qtip and put it in the port where you would plug in the headphones, there may be some dirt in there and the Qtip will safely get it out and it should start working again, if not I would suggest to take it to an authorized apple center to have them further troubleshoot.
Check to see where the Bluetooth output is going, turn up volume, make sure phone is not on silent mode.
I had worked on an Android project and she started to ask questions like whst if there is a conflict in your schedule and you have to choose between the job or the project. And she said you do know that Apple and Android are competitors right so why work on that!!3 Answers
Android programming is just an added experience and essentially these skills can be interpolated to work on app development in Apple as well. Android was a course requirement. But honestly there was no reason for her to ask me that question as the position had nothing to do with programming
She was being rude
Wonder if the person was just trying to be humorous.
The main interviewer kept asking, "DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FOR ME?"4 Answers
If I had more questions, I would have asked them, right?
Ask back some of the questions he asked you.
Yeah, what questions do you have for me
What are a few of the challenges you believe I will face in my first 90 days
