Focused on speaking clearly, communicating only the necessary information, and giving the context around everything I talked about. Basically this was an exercise in my ability to communicate. I don't think they really cared about the project.
This one was hard because I have no idea how the chicken wing industry works. Frankly, that wasn't the point. The interviewer wants to know how you deal with a case where you have absolutely no idea about the industry. Do you still look for the fundamental cost drivers? How well to you integrate any side information they might offer (e.g. FDA regulations, which was a part here)? How readily and intelligently do you reach out for help? Planning out the major points you need to hit and coming back to them, no matter how strange the case, is imperative.
