To whom it may concern: First I'd like to thank you for taking the time to review my resume and also give you some background info on myself. I feel I would make proper fit in the position of administrative assistant based on my experience and abilities. Although I am not experienced in QuickBooks, I do know Sage 50 & I feel I can rise to the challenge of learning any program or software required in a minimal amount of time, given the opportunity. As noted on my resume, my competencies and capabilities are strongly in line with those required for the position. For instance, working at Excel security as the service coordinator for the installation dept, I gained knowledge and insights into providing excellent customer service by anticipating client needs. I also became proficient in accounting via Sage/Peachtree to better invoice clients who did not have service contracts with us. I kept a strict record of techinician scheduling, ordering of materials needed for all projects, tracking of the shipments and redirecting those to the appropriate job site for completion. I'm looking forward to further discussing the position and my qualifications with you in more detail soon. I feel confident that I can fulfill the requirements needed for the office assistant position. Thank you again for your time and consideration. Less

I was asked about my biggest strength and my biggest weakness. I was also asked what plan I had to help the Company grow.

I answered that my biggest strength and weakness was actually the same thing - my emotions. I answered that I was going to help the company grow by working my way up in to human resources and helping find great people to work on an already awesome team. Two and a half years later, I have done so and couldn't imagine working anywhere else. I love what I do every day and come to work singing. My fellow team mates do the same thing. Less

I would say my biggest strength is that that I’m very responsible, patient, hardworking and very organized. One of my weakness is that I tend to overthink sometimes and over plan things that don’t always need to be stressed about. Less

I once held the position of Accounts Payable Coordinator for a major corporation, where I was the AP coordinator for 5 other locations throughout the United States as well as the location I worked in. There were many days I would received assistance requests from two or more locations at once, while simultaneously working on month end deadlines for my branch location. I would have to weigh the deadline dates with the urgency of the requests, and prioritize accordingly. If needed, I would delegate some of the work to my administrative assistant so that all priority work was completed that day in a timely and accurate manner, and others were completed within 24 hours. If there was ever a serious conflict between co workers I would bring it up to my boss/ supervisor and let them know of the situation that’s been going on and see if there was something we could figure out. I would try to handle it on my own but if it got too serious, that is what I would believe is the right thing to do Less

I was asked to create a spreadsheet to track nursing hours/patients that would allow the nursing staff to simply input nursing hour numbers and it would calculate specific ratios to assist with scheduling. This was difficult because of complex formulas need to evaluate specific criteria of nursing hours. I developed this sheet based on my knowledge of Microsoft Excel. This sheet remains in use even today. Less

How much experience do you have in dealing/interacting with people of color, minorities, and/or various cultures?

I, myself, am of mixed race; I was raised in Las Vegas; my primary and secondary schools were inner-city public schools. Unlike the Midwest, Caucasians were often the minority there. Throughout my childhood and early adulthood, I was exposed to a melting pot of people from all walks of life, and I learned to understand, accept and respect people who were different from myself. I also worked for a short period of time at the airport during the summer as a supervisor for a company that specialized in wheelchair and electric cart services. Almost all of my employees were minorities - immigrants from Ethiopia and Liberia, Hispanic, and Filipino. I earned the respect of my employees, and they worked very hard for me. All of our customers were elderly, physically disabled, visually impaired, or needed assistance navigating the airport due to language barriers. I set an example for my employees by treating all customers with respect and compassion for their individual needs. Less
