I said I would interview each employee and get a feel for all the dynamics, start with the low-hanging fruit and see if the employees have any suggestions for improvement, and then manage accordingly from there. He didn't like that I wanted to ask the employees for improvement ideas because that was "my job" and he suggested I may have to "fire everyone and clean house".
I answered yes and explained that I worked with a printer manufacturing company for 7 years and built printers from the ground up adding all parts needed to build a printer into SAP. I also worked for a chemical manufacturing company and put requisition in SAP to order supplies and furniture for 30 associates on my team.
Can you please tell me what sort of questions were asked for the first interview (telephonic). What are they really looking for ??
I did not have a phone interview but in general they will belooking for 'fit' (i.e. are you going to fit in with our culture). Additionally, they are going to ask about prior experiences, why you decided to do what you did (based on your resume), and what skillsets you have developed (strengths). Its an engineering firm that emphasises collaboration - so stressing your analytical skills and experiences working in teams is probably your best bet imo. The culture at their HQs is very midwest if that makes sense - so try to come off as a person who is easy to get along with.
thank you so much for your quick response. I wanted to know what really happens in a assessment day at Dow chemicals. Do they ask you more behavioral questions, questions related to your resume .. Whats the format. Is there a group exercise/presentations/tests for this positions And whats the best way to prepare for an assessment day.
Mostly you are choosing a value based activity. Looking for a position where you can grow personally and professionally - advance opportunities - and where your values are aligned with those of the organization.
