There weren't many difficult or unexpected questions, though HR will ask a lot of "tell me about a time when you ... " questions on the spot. You'll need to be prepared to answer as best you can in the moment. Probably an exercise to see how quickly you can think on your feet more than actually getting the best, most accurate answer.

Most of their questions did not revolve around the requirements of the job or even their criteria of the ideal candidate. Rather their questions centered on why I would be leaving my current position and what was my motivation for applying for the position. The Chief Executive's portion of the interview did touch on the fundraising challenges the organization was experiencing, and that was a relief. In interviewing, I like to talk about my work much more than my own motives and aspirations.
