    CSR Interview

Anonymous Employee in Vancouver, BC (Canada)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (Vancouver, BC (Canada)).

    Interview

Written and verbal test followed by in person interview. I found the job on craigslist and applied because a friend of mine worked there. They brought me in for a computer test that tested my ability to read/write and understand english (even though I had an English degree :)) - after that was a quick in person interview with a temp/recruiting company. After three months on the job working for the temp company, I was hired on by eBay.

    Front End Engineer Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON (Canada)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at eBay (Toronto, ON (Canada)) in August 2017.

    Interview

I had an initial phone interview with 2 developers. The following day I was contacted by HR to go on-site for a 60-minute in-person interview. HR took almost a week to get back to me with a date and time for the interview.

The in-person interview started late as the interviewers could not find an open boardroom for the interview. We walked around the office for about 15 minutes before finding a free boardroom. The first part of the interview was with a senior front end developer and the manager of the developer group. They asked general get-to-know-you questions. Both interviewers told me that they just got back from vacation and had no idea that they were to interview me. They both said that they still had "vacation brain".

The second part of the interview was with 2 JavaScript developers. It was rushed as we now only had about 20 minutes to do a technical exercise. I was asked to wire up a react app to redux to render some data. I was thrown off, nervous, and under pressure due to the time constraints and the pressure of having 2 people watch every keystroke that I made. I got through it with coaching from the devs.
I did not feel good about my chances after the interview. I have not heard back from HR.

    Interview

Interview was for a job in Ireland, I was prepared and I knew my stuff. Interviewer seemed rushed and made a quick decision about me. It took some scheduling due to time zone, recruiter was right on time, which is great, some other recruiters of similar companies seem late so gotten used to start interviews later. She had a heavy Irish accent so I was having a hard time understanding her, seemed like a nice person but overly rushed. Nothing out of the ordinary, but when it came to my questions, she led me to believe that the questions will be answered in next stage which never happened.

    Interview Questions

    • why do I want to work there? I hate that question, I always want to say I want to work there because you have a job that fits my skills, and I am unemployed, but always give them what they want to hear, great company, successful returns, and .... I wish I could ask them in return, why do you want me to work for you?   Answer Question

    Marketing Interview

    Anonymous Employee
    Accepted Offer

    Interview

Applied online and got an interview.
It was not too simple in the beginning since they have specific wants in the resume and stuff
however, I managed and was able to get the position.
During the interveiw they asked me a few behavioural questions and they also asked me what i did in the past internships. I had to say what kind of leadership roles i took during my past internship and they also asked what were my weaknesses during that time.
Overall interview was not too bad, maybe because it was for a random marketing intern position.
Overall good, and i had a great experience working at ebay.
