What makes you stand out from the competition?1 Answers
(from email response) ...what makes me stand out from the other candidates: I stewed on this one for a while, since I don't feel like I stand out at all, but then I realized: I have a positive attitude and the desire to better myself. I get along with lots of different people, and can collaborate in teams, I've worked with in-store merchandising to create displays... I can do this. It wasn't a made up response - it took me two hours to respond to this question! I had to really examine myself as a person and saleswoman (plus ask everyone in the area about it) before I could answer. I'm about to have the face-to-face next week, so the offer info is incorrect. Name, date of birth, any pre-existing medical issues, citizenship. You will be required to fill out a fairly detailed history in order to get your security clearance if your job requires one. Then you're hired.1 Answers
They will hire you as long as you are reasonable honest and can pass the ASVAB and Medical screening. Nothing else matters. Once hired they take care of everything. You will be transported to a training facility and given an advance on pay to purchase anything you require, about 200 dollars worth. Then if you complete Basic Training you are now in, then you will be sent to AIT for your actual technical training. If you pass you will be sent to your first duty station in one of upto 80 different countries. If you are unable to complete you AIT, you will either have to start it over (Recycled) or be forced to choose from a small list of other jobs that the military feels you are qualified for and needs to get filled. Once at your first duty station you will be trained on the tasks you need to accomplish. Be aware that once you join you have only a little control over where you go and what jobs you will be performing. I have known many people that have never done the job they were trained to do in AIT. Less
