Asked my current salary, and when I stated I wasn't asking for a match or higher, they pressed for my current salary. The light was shut off when they found out my current salary.... I knew the job was no longer in my grasp.
I agree to measurable outcomes prior to start. Those are my reference point, and I lean on those if management becomes concerned. I take the view that, once those outcomes are set, the manager is too valuable to obsess on the process. Let me live or die on the outcomes.
Interviewer was asking questions that were testing my way of thinking -- he wanted to know if I could think logically. However, he had difficulty questions in a way that they were clear & understandable without giving away the answer.
