I believe that hospice is my healthcare calling. I'm compassionate and sympathetic, but most of all emphatic to my patients/clients and it's easy for me to relate their current status, like it could be mine, and I think that's even more important to my role because I can understand the patient/client better than some that don't feel empathy. I also cared for my grandmother when she went into home hospice when I was 21, and I sat vigil by her side alone every night while she was still with us, so my family could get rest.
