A t-test is a comparison of two population means. To conduct a t-test, means of two different samples are compared to generate types of information, such as p-values and confidence intervals. If the generated p-value is below .05, the value is considered significant. This indicates that there is a significant difference, beyond chance, between the two populations. If it is above .05, it is considered as not significant. The confidence intervals further support the results, and to avoid the chance of type I and type II errors. Once a significant p-value is found, further tests are run to understand the difference. There are several types two types of t-tests - independent samples and paired-samples. Independent samples t-test is used to run two independent means, while a paired-samples t-test is used to run means for two independent samples that are correlated. Less

Hi, as a Google employee, I’ve created an interview prep guide that got many people into Google, based on my and my friends' interview experiences. You can find it here: interviewjoy.com/services/interview-process-details/google-manager-interview-questions-answers/ (please do not forget to check the reviews on that page to read my customers' comments). Good luck! Less
