Speak to them like they are human beings. Tell them exactly why things are costing more money, why they will not receive raises, tell them how we will make things better for them despite these added costs. Give them details when we speak to them. That's all they want, they want to know the why. People that have worked at a company all their lives want to know they are respected. Give them that and they will work harder for you. Hide things, be vague and they will ultimately hate showing up every day. Less
