"When hiring sales associates, employers are looking for charismatic candidates who can provide helpful advice to customers and close sales. Be prepared to answer a few scenario questions that will assess your ability to handle difficult customers, sell a product, or excel on a team. Previous sales experience is an advantage, but not necessary."
Lets say you have a line of customers and a phone call comes in. Who do you take care of first and why?
Let the customers in front of you know you need to take the call, take the call and continue to help the customer in front of you as well.
Macy's has people that call to see if you answer within 2 rings and that you use your name, Macy's and "outstanding" when you do get the phone. That is why the managers want to be sure that you know what to do when the phone rings so they do not get a bad report on the first day. I used to say "Macy's" this is "Outstanding Erik" how can I help you. But they like a longer opener. The main thing is the tree words without the customer waiting.
Take care of the customers in front of you first. You want to get rid of that line as soon as possible.
