Lumber and building materials interview questions shared by candidates
If an item a customer wanted was out of stock or the store didn't carry that a customer wanted how would you handle?
My answer was make an attempt to suggest other places they might find it. This was not the right answer. Correct answer was to suggest alternatives to meeting their needs which the store does carry.
1) Try to suggest a suitable substitute (even better if it's a lower price to the customer!), 2) Offer to locate the product at the next closest Home Depot and call to make sure the product is actually there 3) offer a raincheck if possible?
