Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at marcus evans in May 2011.

Interview

I applied online and fairly quickly received an email asking for a good time for a phone interview. The phone interview was short and sweet (the manager/boss called - no recruiters). Pretty simple, he/she basically wants to know if you know what they do, they explain the position to you in detail and see if you are still interested. Then very quickly (they tell you the time frames for the next step in the interview process and they are very accurate) I received an email from he/she asking to come for the 1st interview. In this interview they ask you work related questions (they want to know what your intentions with your career have been and will be), they have studied your resume well and ask you a few personality questions here and there. Mostly, typical interview questions. This interview is about 1 hour long, mostly the manager/boss talking about the position and they strongly encourage you to ask a lot of questions - so come prepared. Shortly after that I got email for 2nd interview with higher management person. The 2nd interview was very short, 90% of the questions were personality wise (questions about you as a person, not so much what you did in each job). After that, I received notification that I was not offered the position, not sure what happens after that.
The office is very executive-ish so dress very well and I truly believe they are looking more for personality than qualifications. They look for young people and whatever position you apply for, they openly tell you from the get-go that that is only the beginning, the position is way more comprehensive. The pay is very decent and they offer benefits. Business hours are normal hours, too.

  • They do a LOT of monologue talking about position and company...   1 Answer
  • If you have only been with your most recent employer for a short period of time, prepare to explain in detail why you are looking for work.   Answer Question
