If you were alone (no supervisors around), there's people calling on the phone a long line forming and a difficult customer at the front of the line what would you do?

First and foremost, I'd handle the customer on the phone telling them to please hold, then I'd speak to the person in front if I can't handle there situation immediately, id tell them to wait on the side while i get the line down. Then handle there problem.
